Kievits Kroon in Pretoria has introduced a new range of vinotherapy room amenities, specially designed for the country estate by Prime Product. The wine and grapeseed oil-based skin and hair care products include a conditioning shampoo, a hand and body lotion and a body wash.

Managing director of Kievits Kroon, Alan O’Leary, says the decision to introduce the vinotherapy range is part of a long-term brand strategy focussed on positioning the country estate as the “Winelands in Gauteng”. He notes: “The estate reminds one very much of a Cape wine estate. The beautiful Cape Dutch architecture of the gabled manor house, which accommodates Granita restaurant, 41 Library Bar and our reception area, is exactly like something you would see in Paarl or Stellenbosch.  So the winelands theme was a natural development and we are following it through to many aspects of the estate, including the spa.”

The vinotherapy products capture the benefits of the polyphenol antioxidants resveratrol and quercetin in grapes, discovered in the 1980s by scientists who concluded that antioxidants reduce oxidative stress and also the changes that accompany aging. The Kievits Kroon range has rejuvenation properties and natural antioxidants that detoxify, cool inflammation, and soften and repair damaged skin. The range is beneficial to all skin types and includes:

- Hand & Body Lotion: rich, non greasy lotion that absorbs quickly.

- Body Wash: provides a gentle foam when water is applied, which is easily rinsed off leaving the skin lightly moisturised.

- Conditioning Shampoo has mild cleansing agents which help remove the hair of any build up of grease and dirt.

According to O’Leary, the next step is the introduction of a therapy range in the spa for use in treatments, which will also be available to purchase.
