Taste Holdings puts food division on Facebook

Scooters Pizza and Maxi’s join social networking site; target messages for
Taste Holdings Food Division, consisting of Maxi’s family restaurant and Scooters Pizza chains, have joined the online social networking sites Facebook. They believe that in the competitive franchise food industry, networking is becoming increasingly important.
Taste Holdings Food Division plans to optimise the advantages of the social networking sites to communicate to potential and existing customers the benefits of its brands.
“Fans” will be updated with the latest news on Maxi’s and Scooters Pizza, including upcoming promotions, competitions, menu changes and special offers. Interactivity means Maxi’s and Scooters Pizza can proactively analyse feedback from their market and make constructive adjustments to suit their targeted audiences.
“Expanding our marketing strategy to integrate social networking with targeted messages is a key component to effective communication within any franchising business. Taste Holdings aims to not only use the current platform, Facebook, to provide immediate up-to-date information on Maxi’s and Scooters Pizza, but to also build long and trusting relationships with existing and potential customers,” says Christo Calitz, CEO of Taste Holdings Food Division.

According to Facebook’s statistics, the worldwide phenomenon reached 400-million active users in February 2010 and achieved over 500-million active users by 21 June 2010.
