The Glenmorangie Company, purveyors of some of the world’s finest whiskies, has garnered much acclaim in recent months, dominating the global awards stakes with the extraordinary quality of their celebrated drams.
The Company, which boasts both the rejuvenated Glenmorangie range and distinguished whisky darling, Ardbeg, has received a number of major awards and accolades from prominent sources including the International Wine and Spirit Competition (ISWC), the World Whisky Awards and the Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky.
Most notably, Ardbeg, which was revived by Glenmorangie Plc in 1997, has scooped World Whisky of the Year for the second year running – a historic ‘double’ courtesy of Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible, the industry’s well-thumbed and much-admired annual from the internationally acclaimed whisky guru.
Meanwhile, the Glenmorangie collection has received a plethora of it’s own accolades including the Best Highland Single Malt at the 2008 World Whisky Awards for Nectar D ‘ Or, a Gold ‘Best in Class’ for Quinta Rubin at the IWSC and the global Whisky Brand Innovator of the Year for the second year running through Whisky Magazine, to name a few. The Company’s Master Distiller, Bill Lumsden, also reprises his role as Malt Advocate’s Industry Leader of the Year (previously won in 2001 and 2006)
The Glenmorangie awards follow shortly after the relaunching of the Glenmorangie range, in which previous varietals made way for exciting new releases, reflecting the contemporary tastes of today’s whisky drinker, yet remaining loyal to the timeless nature and unparalleled heritage of the brand.
The new varietals, the Original, Quinta Rubin, Nectar D’ Or and Lasanta, all pay homage to the rituals of tradition which mark the Glenmorangie Company, while providing a new interpretation of whisky drinking which are set to redefine the luxury single malt category. A distinctive new take on centuries of heritage, the Glenmorangie Company clearly succeeds in providing, in the words of Jim Murray, “complexity at its most complex”.

About Glenmorangie
Glenmorangie is recognised as the most complex single malt Scotch whisky because of its multi-layered kaleidoscope of aromas and flavours. This spirit originates in the Scottish Highlands where, at the Glenmorangie Distillery, it is distilled in the tallest malt whisky stills in Scotland, expertly matured in the finest oak casks, and perfected by the 16 Men of Tain. The distillery was founded in 1843.
About Ardbeg
Ardbeg prides itself on being the ‘Ultimate Islay Malt Whisky’. Established in 1815, Ardbeg is revered by connoisseurs around the world as the peatiest, smokiest and most complex of all the Islay malts widely available. Despite its smokiness, Ardbeg is renowned for its devilishly delicious sweetness, a phenomenon that has affectionately become known as ‘the peaty paradox’.
The Glenmorangie Company
The Glenmorangie Company was founded in 1893 (as Macdonald & Muir Ltd) and is headquartered in West Lothian employing around 390 people. Since 2005, The Glenmorangie Company is part of Mot Hennessy, the wine and spirits division of Mot Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH).
