The 300th Debonairs Pizza restaurant opened this month at The Pavilion shopping centre in Westville near Durban.

The franchisees are Chris Farrant and Gavyn Hough. With nine Debonairs stores, they are regarded as the two of the brand’s top franchisees.

Conducted by Derrian Nadauld, the managing executive of Debonairs Pizza, the official opening of the restaurant was attended by the founder of the brand, Craig McKenzie; soccer legend Doctor Khumalo; and the deputy mayor of Ethekwini, Logie Naidoo.

The first Debonairs store opened 19 years ago in the back of a bakery in Pietermaritzburg.
