Nothing little about Ocean Basket shrimps

Ocean Basket is now serving Argentinean Red Shrimp in all its prawn dishes.
George Nichas, Ocean Basket co-founder and executive chairman, says: “While the word ‘shrimp’ is always associated with something very small, the Argentinean Red Shrimp is actually 10% larger than the Black Tiger Prawn.
“It also looks more inviting because it’s pinker – perhaps because it’s a deep-sea crustacean – and it has a terrific, slightly sweeter flavour. It’s just so good, we decided to replace all the Indian Black Tiger Prawns on our menu with the Argentinean Red Shrimp!”
This decision, however, was not taken before Ocean Basket’s customers had the chance to check it out. For a trial period, the Argentinean Red Shrimp was tested in the brand’s restaurants and the feedback regarding quality and value was positive.
Ocean Basket is now one of South Africa’s main importers of the Argentinean Red Shrimp and Ocean Basket Wholesale is the largest distributor of seafood in South Africa.
