The Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI) has announced the resignation of its general manager, Adene Pringle, who will leave the organisation at the end of October. She will then relocate to Kleinmond in the Western Cape with her husband Trevor.
SAACI national chairperson Nina Freysen-Pretorius said Pringle’s resignation is a great loss to the association. “Over the past two-and-a-half years Adene’s tremendous hard work and extensive industry experience have helped establish a solid head office structure for SAACI and taken the association to a new level of professionalism.
“We wish her all the best in her new, more relaxed life that lies ahead, but trust that her skills and knowledge will not be lost to SAACI and the industry as a whole. We were truly privileged to have Adene on board.”
Among other things, Pringle will still be responsible for crucial aspects of the SAACI national congress over the next few months, including the arranging of speakers.
“Being the general manager of SAACI was indeed the highlight of my career,” says Pringle. “I thank the board, my colleagues and every SAACI member whom I worked or interacted with during my time at the association.”
SAACI has reassured its members, stakeholders and the business tourism industry that the transition with the appointment of a new general manager will be a smooth one. The general manager position will be advertised soon.
