Secunda sets sights on summer visitors

Peermont’s Graceland Hotel Casino and Country Club in Secunda in Mpumalanga has launched a series of promotions to attract extra visitors. Shows, dining specials and a variety of entertainment facilities are aimed at travellers looking for a weekend getaway.

The Caspernades with Casper de Vries starts on 12 October; a special “Gracelands Idols” competition is currently underway; Bonus Roulette and Texas Hold-em Poker is being played; and Thunderstruck and Break The Ice competitions give slot machine gamers a chance to win cash prizes plus accommodation, dinner and golf prizes in lucky draws.

Graceland also features a Gary Player designed 18-hole championship links-style golf course, pitch and putt, a driving range, a nightspot, range of restaurants including elegant Blue Bayou and casual American Style Caf, plus a full casino offering. There is also a children’s play centre and video arcade.

Winter accommodation specials still on offer until 31 August 2010 include a night at the 98-room four-star Peermont Walmont hotel from R480 per person sharing per night. Other packages on offer include accommodation, dinner and breakfast for R960 for two people per night sharing.

The “Stay and Play” Graceland golf special is R740 per person sharing. The golf course has at its “19th hole” the Augusta Lounge and Palm Terrace, and there is a Pro Shop on site.

Other “Stay and Play” golfing packages include a two-night (Friday and Saturday) minimum stay in either the deluxe and classic rooms at the Walmont Hotel for R2400 for a single room for two nights or R3160 double for two nights. This weekend package includes two nights stay at the Peermont Walmont, breakfast, dinner and two rounds of golf.

A deluxe package is also available which includes a delicious buffet dinner at the Blue Bayou Restaurant for R2400 single and R1580 sharing.
