Three Cities reports 100% occupancy in Durban for COP17 period

The group has reported 100% occupancy during the two-week conference.
Brendan Hackett, GM of the Riverside Hotel & Spa says his hotel is fully booked with 100% deposits already paid. Leean Murugan, GM at The Square Boutique Hotel & Spa also reports full occupancy and said they would be hosting the US delegation. Delegations from Germany, Switzerland and Norway will be staying at The Royal Hotel. The Gateway and Royal Palm Hotels also reported full occupancy for the conference’s duration.
Three Cities Exceptional Hotels CEO Mike Lambert says: “Through its high profile delegates and enormous media exposure, COP17 will thrust Durban into the spotlight. It’s up to us to show the world that we can rise to the challenge to provide excellent service in an environmentally friendly manner.”
Hackett says: “The conference will give Durban hotels a platform to shine and impress the attending 5 000 delegates. He says that the conference will give his staff international exposure while helping them to sharpen their skills to deliver a high service quality.”
The Royal Hotel GM Philip Adamson says: “It will fast track the industry in a positive way. With the focus of COP17, we will now be able to take on the international markets in a more competitive way. With the number of properties that we have in the Durban region, we can be leaders of the environmental tourism sector going forward.”
