The Three Cities Group has announced its redevelopment of The Mia Hotel in Nigeria to begin in November. This is the group’s first venture into North West Africa.

Kaduna, a city with a population of over six-million, was chosen as the group’s first Nigerian project. The Mia Hotel “City Resort” located in the CBD will be redeveloped into a 60-bedroom establishment consisting of two- and three-bedroom cluster bungalows set in a park-like environment.

The Mia Hotel will also have two restaurants, a spa, gym and large outdoor pool as well as a conference venue that will be able to accommodate up to 60 delegates. The hotel’s facilities will cater for weddings and other outdoor functions around the pool area. Development of The Mia is envisaged to take 18 months.

Mike Lambert, CEO of Three Cities says: “The Three Cities Group is confident of the success of its West African investment and hopes that this project will lay the foundation for additional property development in Africa.”

What about the rest of your hotels in South Africa that arent performing, due to budget cuts, understaffing, bad management etc etc? A number of reviews of various properties says this. Rather look at refurbing, doing up, making your hotels more in line with other hotels of apparently the same grade, rather than over extinding yourself into Africa.

@Andre – Here here!!! Bad management deluxe and not from unit levels. Concentrate on what you have first before messing something else up.
